Master Smith has been training and
teaching KungFu and Tai Chi since 1991. She began studying the
martial arts under the direction of Master
Anthony Goh and continued her training with
Master
Tom Brocht. She has received outstanding recognition in
international and national competition.
Master
Smith received the “Female Pioneer Award” in 2000 and has been
noted in Action Magazine. In 2008, the United States Head of
Family Martial Arts Association recognized
Master
Smith with the “Sifu Warrior of Honor” award as a “black belt
level martial artist who has significantly inspired and
enriched the lives of others, through the outstanding
dedication and contributions to the martial arts and
community.” She has
judged nationally and internationally and has been a key staff
member in many of these tournaments.
Recognition was given to her and to the students she coached
when she took her choreographed group of competitors to first
place in international competition. She is respected by the
martial arts community and her students. Master Smith’s
specialty is straight sword, fan and Tai Chi.
